Agility

Dog Agility is the sport where under the control of the handler the dog negotiates a set of obstacles eg tyres, tunnels, jumps, weaving poles. It is both a wonderful mental & physical challenge for the animal and a great fitness workout for the human.

Dog requirements: preferably older than 18 months (although younger dogs can participate in easier exercises), be fit and not overweight.

Obedience level: Basic obedience is required, ie sit stay, (which you are learning at your Obedience classes) and heel, although the dog will be on lead for some time while you and he/she masters the articles.

Training Requirements: Water, 4-6ft lead (approx), Flat collar (No correction collars as Agility is a fun sport for the dogs therefore corrections are rarely used) dog stake and soft food or toy to use as reward.

Training Nights: Training is conducted each TUESDAY night at 7.00pm at Glengarry Park, Duncraig (except if raining)
